Charging Guide

Charging Equipment

The charging equipment you need is based on the level of charging you plan to use.

For Level 1 Charging…

Standard Home Outlet + your EVs Charging Adapter

  • Every EV comes with a charging adapter that connects to a standard home outlet (a.k.a. Level 1 Charging).
  • Level 1 adds up to 50 miles of range in 12 hours, more than most people drive on a typical day.
  • Level 1 makes it easy to charge from the comfort of your own home (ideally while you sleep!).
  • Level 1 is an adequate solution for many.  This is especially true if the vehicle is not driven much daily or is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).
  •

For Level 2 Charging…

A Level 2 Charging Station

  • Although not required, it is typically recommended to purchase a Level 2 home charging station, to optimize your plug-in car’s electric mileage benefits.
  • Level 2 recharges your EV two to six times faster than Level 1.
  • Level 2 also offers convenient at home charging. It even allows EVs with larger batteries to always fully recharge overnight.
  • The best time to get a Level 2 is just before taking delivery of your vehicle. That way the equipment can be installed and ready for charging the moment you receive your EV.
